Unique home features off the beaten path

Did you not love Dr. Suess as a child and wish you could live in one of those zany houses!? Well this is for those of us that did want one of those homes! Just a few fun features we want clients to step out of the box and put their imagination to task!

Home Theaters:

Home theaters have become more commonplace in recent years, whether tucked away in the basement of a cozy bungalow or as an elaborate wing of a palatial estate. These custom
entertainment spaces can add to a home's enjoyment factor, not to mention its resale value. If you're considering adding one to your home, we do that too! There are many factors to consider- What type of screen? Do you want individual seating like a public theater? Do you want to snuggle? How many seats? Sound quality? We are currently working on one with a gold gilded ceiling so stay tuned!

Trampoline room:

This is off the beaten path we know! Hear us out- It's a total statement while being very low maintenance overall. Did you know that even Bill Gates has a trampoline game room? The founder of Microsoft admitted to Ellen DeGeneres that that’s one of the few indulgences he’s allowed himself. Apparently, his kids, who were ages 16 to 22 at the time, love using it! And why wouldn’t they? There are so many things you might use an indoor trampoline room for! Not only can you have lots of fun jumping around with your friends or kids, but you could even sleep on the trampoline mat. If you’ve ever jumped on a trampoline before, you’ve probably experienced the bliss of lying down on one, exhausted from all the activity.

Slides:

Gone are the days when slides were just for kids or the outdoors, for that matter. Sure, some might see this decor element as a slippery slope to downright crazy. Installing an interior slide isn’t insane. In fact, it’s kind of awesome. So, are you interested in adding an amusing and unique way to get from one floor to another in a hurry OR EVEN A WAY TO MAKE LAUNDRY  THAT MUCH BETTER!?

Hidden room:

We've done a few of these but you will likely not see a picture from one of our homes. Because the whole point of a secret door is that it remains a SECRET! Maybe one day we will share one, but as of yet our clients need their privacy. We always joke and say 'What's the point of a 5 million dollar house if you don't even have a secret room?!'

Here are some uses for hidden doors:

  • Wine Cellars

  • Safe Storage

  • Playrooms

  • Gun rooms

  • Panic rooms

  • Just plain FUN!

What are some of your unique ideas you have to add? We became designers to add the elements of the unexpected! Thank you for coming with us on our journey!

XOXO-

Brit
